5 Simple Ways to Help in Hard Times

5 Simple Ways to Help in Hard Times

We're all in this together (even while sitting at home alone) ;) and if you're feeling like you want to do something to help here are some things that you can do. Even though we are a toothpaste company we were founded on the belief that we can all make a difference! Learn more about how we helped our local community here. Every little bit counts!

Spread digital acts of kindness

They say laughter cures all.. use this time to spread digital acts of kindness. Send a friend a funny meme or video to make them laugh. Here is an Instagram we are loving right now.

Also, this is a great time to sign online petitions for causes you support!

Deliver groceries to someone in need

Surprise deliver someone in need with a meal from their favorite restaurant. It's a win-win for supporting small businesses and helping out someone in need!

Download the Nextdoor app and let people know you are available to help in your neighborhood or post on online local bulletins.

Wash your hands

STOP, wait a minute.... think of that song you love to sing in the shower and get singing for at least 20 seconds.

Using bar soap (plastic-free FTW 🙌) wet your hands, scrub everywhere (especially your fingers and under those fingernails, too) with soap for at least 20 seconds, then rinse and dry well with a clean towel!

PRO TIP: Head to this website and type in that song you've had on repeat.

Foster an animal

Don't self isolate alone! Since the companionship of pets has been shown to reduce stress and lower anxiety this may be the perfect time to foster a furry friend in need. Take to Google and look up your local animal shelters and rescues. Since many are closed due to COVID-19, you may need to get a little creative here. We recommend searching instagram for rescues in your area, try hashtags like #dogrescue, #adoptdontshop, #fosteringsaveslives along with your location! Network with rescues and comment on photos letting them know you are interested and available to foster. Animal rescue is a tight-knit community so even if you can't foster that exact dog or cat, knowing that you're willing can help rescues link you up to an animal in need!

Call, Text, or FaceTime a friend

With less face time, there’s no better time for FaceTime and we've been practicing this one a lot.

Physical distancing doesn't mean disconnecting, so, grab your phone and give that friend or family member, you haven't talked to in a while, a call!

Support local, small businesses

Did you know some of your favorite local restaurants are now delivery or take-out only?

Although many of our favorite restaurants had to shut their doors many of them are now offering takeout or delivery! Buy a gift card online to use at a later date. Shop online from small businesses you support instead of heading out.

We're all in this together! From all of us at Bite we hope you're staying healthy and staying home 💛

Hi there. I love your products and wanted to share them on my Facebook or Instagram accounts, but can’t find the ability to share anywhere on the detail pages. Anyway, I’m in UX and just wanted to have the option in addition to maybe checkout flow. Thanks! Kelly
