Q: Do bits contain fluoride?
A: We now offer a fluoride version of our Bits! They can be found here. All our other Toothpaste Bits and our Mouthwash Bits contain nano-hydroxyapatite (nHAp), which is an alternative to fluoride that is known to reduce sensitivity and strengthen enamel.
Q: How many bits come in one bottle?
A: There are 62 tablets in our small bottles which equals about one month of brushing your teeth twice a day and 248 tablets in our 4 Month Subscription jar which is enough for one person to brush their teeth twice a day for four months. Our Mouthwash jar comes with 124 Bits and should last four months if you use it once a day.
Q: How do I care for my bits?
A: Treat your Bits like you would vitamins. Keep the lid on the bottle when not in use. Be sure it's air-tight!
Q: How are your bits different?
A: Our Bits are made with nano hydroxyapatite and plant-derived, high quality ingredients and sold in sustainable packaging. We carefully selected each ingredient and avoid harsh chemicals like SLS, unsustainably-sourced ingredients and plastic packaging. Our Bits are formulated in house and we do not private label meaning our Bits are unique to us and unlike any other toothpaste tablets on the market.
Q: Are bits travel-friendly?
A: Yes! Our tablets are TSA Approved and ready to fly, plus you'll never have to worry about a toothpaste tube or mouthwash bottle exploding in your bag on flights or road trips again.
Q: Are bits safe for kids?
A: We would not recommend our product to children under 3 years old as our product is a small chewable tablet, it could become a choking hazard. For children under 3, please crush Bit into powder and dip wet toothbrush bristles into powder for brushing. Our Bits are fluoride free and safe to swallow (although we would recommend spitting after brushing as you would any other toothpaste).
Q: Are bits safe for pets?
A: NO, these are not safe for pets! Our tablets are xylitol-based, as xylitol is good for our teeth, however it is extremely toxic to dogs and cats. The toxicity of our tablets is similar to that of grapes and raisins to dogs - even a small amount of xylitol is deadly to them. Please keep these away from our four-legged friends.
Q: What is the difference between Fresh Mint and Mint Charcoal?
A: Charcoal has long been used as a detoxifier and is known to help get rid of surface stains on our teeth from everyday things like coffee, red wine and darker colored foods. Our Mint version doesn't have charcoal in it but our Mint Charcoal does. If you're torn between the two, a lot of people have ordered the Duo and use Mint in the morning and Mint Charcoal at night, or you can order the 4 Month Subscription of Mint and add a bottle of Mint Charcoal for those extra coffee or red wine days ;).
Q: Why do my bits look weird?
A: Most commercial toothpastes use dyes or titanium dioxide to alter the color of their product but we don't believe in adding anything that is unnecessary and because our Bits are made with natural ingredients, the color can vary from time to time. Some shipments may be pure white while others are closer to off white, even a slight cream color - all variations are effective and safe to use. Here are a few other things that may happen to your Bits: Bits look fuzzy, or like they are growing white hair or have white crystalized lines growing from them. - That’s our natural menthol recrystallizing outside the Bits. It’s totally normal, and if you gently shake the jar, it will break up and disperse around the Bits again. Your Bits are still safe to use!
Bits seem soft and have turned yellow or brown. - It sounds like your Bits have been exposed to moisture or humidity, please send a photo of your Bits to firstname.lastname@example.org and we will do our best to make things right! Keep your lid on tight and only store your Bits in an airtight container when not in use to avoid moisture exposure.
Q: Can I send the bottles back for refills?
A: The glass bottles and jars are for you to keep and meant to be refilled with more Bits!

A: Our toothbrush is made of moso bamboo (Phyllostachys edulis). It is wild grown in the mountains of China using little water and no pesticides. Bamboo is considered a grass and is known to be a highly renewable and sustainable resource. Q: How do I compost Brush by Bite?
A: Composting our bamboo toothbrush is super easy! The handle can go directly in your home or farmers market compost (Whole Foods typically has a compost bin if you have one in your area) and you can find more information on how to compost the bristles on our blog here.
Q: Help! My toothbrush bristles are falling out!
A: It's normal for small amount of bristles to fall out the first few times you use any bamboo toothbrush, but if bristles continue to fall out after your first few brushes, please email us at email@example.com so we can help you out!
Q: Can I order just the head of the toothbrush?
A: We have been working toward making this an option, however in this process, we learned that to make replaceable bamboo toothbrush heads, it's necessary to actually make the entire toothbrush and then discard the bottom half of the brush.
Q: What is your floss made of?
A: Our vegan, plastic-free refillable floss is made of plant based polylactic acid. Please find more details and how to compost it at home here.
Q: How much floss comes per bottle?
A: Each bottle of floss contains 30 meters, which should last about 4 months if you floss once per day!
Q: How do I use Bite's whitening gel?
A: After brushing your teeth, dry the surface of your teeth. Using the brush applicator, apply a generous amount of Bite Whitening Gel one tooth at a time in an up and down motion while trying not to let your lips or tongue touch your teeth. Please be mindful to avoid applying the gel onto your gums. We recommend that you keep the gel on your teeth for 2 full minutes for best results. Spit out the excess gel after 2 minutes, do not rinse your teeth or eat / drink for 30 minutes after application. For best results use twice a day for 14 consecutive days.
Q: What are the whitening gel ingredients?

Q: How does it work?
A: Peroxide-based Whitening Gels actually work on a molecular level to change the color of the tooth. When applied to your enamel, hydrogen-peroxide breaks down to hydrogen peroxide and hydrogen peroxide causes the staining molecules on your teeth to fall apart. You can tell this is happening by the bubbling that occurs when you apply the gel, this is the hydrogen peroxide oxidizing and as it does so, it actually steals the electrons of the atoms holding the staining molecules together, causing them to fall apart. This leaves your teeth whiter and brighter without any added sensitivity or harmful chemicals!
Q: Should I brush my teeth before or after using the gel?
A: Please brush your teeth before use and dry your teeth with dry cloth. It's very important for your teeth to be dry in order for the Whitening Gel to stick to the surface of your teeth.
Q: How much gel should I use each time?
A: A generous amount should be used to cover the teeth you want to whiten while avoiding your lips, gums and tongue.
Q: Can the whitening gel be used after 14 days after opening?
A: If you still have Whitening Gel leftover after your 14 day whitening process, you can choose to discard it and recycle the bottle or you can keep it knowing that the gel begins losing its whitening effectiveness after 14 days. It will no longer have the same whitening effect as when it is first opened.
Q: Will the whitening gel help remove stains like wine or coffee?
A: Yes, our Whitening Gel is gentle for sensitive teeth but tough enough to tackle stains from coffee and wine when used as directed. Please note if you have extensive staining to your teeth, any at home whitening systems may not have the full whitening result but your teeth will still be whiter and brighter after completing the full 14 day whitening cycle. Keep in mind, no teeth whitening treatment is permanent and we recommend using our Whitening Gel every 4 months. You might need to whiten your teeth less or more often depending on your lifestyle and the natural color of your teeth.
Q: Can I brush my teeth with the whitening gel?
A: No, we would not recommend brushing your teeth with our Whitening Gel.
Q: Can the whitening gel be used with an LED light?
A: Our Whitening Gel is meant to be used alone and we do not recommend using LED/UV lights when whitening your teeth. However as our gel is hydrogen-peroxide-based it may be compatible with LED/UV lights.
Q: Can the gel be used with aligners or night guards?
A: We have not tested our gel with aligners / night guards however, as our gel is hydrogen-peroxide-based it may be compatible with aligners / night guards.
Q: Can the gel be used on veneers?
A: Our Whitening Gel can only whiten natural teeth so please do not use on veneers.
Q: Is it ok to use if I have sensitive gums?
A: It's safe to use with sensitive gums, however if you experience any discomfort we recommend to discontinue use immediately and if unsure about using our product consult your dentist or dental hygienist.
Q: What should I do when I have gotten the gel on my gums or lips?
A: You can wipe it off with a clean cloth. Please avoid soft tissue (gums, lips, tongue) when applying the gel, a slight tingling is normal but if you feel any discomfort or pain, please discontinue use immediately.
Q: Does the gel come with a brush?
A: Yes, Bite’s Whitening Gel and the brush are always packaged together for sanitary reasons.
Q: Should the brush be kept or does it get sent each time?
A: The brush can be composted or upcycled as it is perfect for cleaning small crevices like keyboards, tight spaces or jewelry.
Q: What is the shelf life of the whitening gel?
A: 1 year, however after it’s opened it needs to be used within 14 days, as after that it will start losing its whitening effectiveness.
Q: How should I store the gel?
A: Keep the gel in a cool area (you can also store in the refrigerator- away from food) away from sunlight and heat, as those can break down the whitening properties.
Q: How should I dispose of the gel after use?
A: Rinse the bottle before recycling.
Q: Can I compost the whitening gel after using it?
A: We have not done any testing whether or not our Whitening Gel is safe for composting therefore, we would recommend rinsing out the bottle and recycling or upcycling after use.
Q: What is the money back guarantee policy?
A: We promise our plastic free Whitening Gel will whiten your teeth, within 14 days if used as directed. Please understand that different people will have different whitening results due to their lifestyle and natural teeth color. If you do not see any results after using the Whitening Gel consistently for 14 days, please reach out to us to begin the refund process if the product was purchased within 30 days. We can only refund one bottle of Whitening Gel per person. We reserve the right to not honor this policy if we feel it is being abused.
Q: Is the whitening gel safe for kids?
A: Teeth whitening products should not be used on baby teeth and should always be kept out of reach of children.
Q: Is it safe for septic tanks?
A: We have not tested the Whitening Gel in septic tanks. Please contact a septic tank professional with the list of the Whitening Gel ingredients.
Q: Can I use this while pregnant or breastfeeding?
A: We do not recommend using our product until after you talk to your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.

A: All whitening products should be kept away from animals. Please contact animal poison control if the product is ingested by your pet.
Q: What are the available scents? Are they unisex?
A: We work with high end perfumers to create our 3 unique scents - Neroli, Rose Vert and Santal. Neroli is bright fresh citrus, Rose Vert is a modern dewy rose and Santal is sexy, smoky sandalwood. All of our scents are unisex and safe for sensitive skin.

A: Our deodorant case is super easy to assemble and it is made to last.
Here's how it works:

Q: How do I dispose of the deodorant refill?
A: Our deodorant refill is plastic free and will break down in a home compost over time. The deodorant canister is made of aluminum and is meant for you to keep!
Q: How to use?
A: Here's how it works:
- Remove the metal base
- Insert the cardboard refill
- Put the metal base back on
- Uncap and push the bottom up with two fingers
The bottom is hollow to allow you to push your Body Balm up, and the refill is made to be a nice snug fit so it stays up when you swipe! ?
Although, it feels strange at first, simply apply a thin layer over your skin and rub in. Sometimes if the bar itself is cold (if it was left in a cold car or similar) you may want to warm it up a bit with a few quick swipes, but a little goes a LONG way!
It might help to warm the Balm up by rubbing it onto your palm in a circular motion a few times -- it may be that your Body Balm needs a little "warming up" to get going.
We also love to recommend this fun test - try using your conventional liquid moisturizer on one leg and our Body Balm on the other leg right after your morning shower. Leave both all day and then before you go to bed, touch both legs to feel the difference - we're confident your Bite Body Balm leg will still feel as silky soft as it did in the morning where as the other will have most likely lost it's moisturizing benefit throughout the day and will not feel as deeply hydrated.
It is the same process as our deodorant!

Q: How to care for the product?
A: Our body balm is recommended to be stored at room temp and may get soft in higher temperatures.
However, as long as it is stored below 85 degrees Fahrenheit, our body balm should not melt.
Q: How is the product different than what is currently on the market?
A: Conventional moisturizers are packed with oils and water that do not necessarily penetrate past your skins barrier so although your skin may feel "wet" or greasy after applying a typical liquid moisturizer, the hydration doesn't last (which is why you may be feeling the need to apply liquid moisturizers multiple times a day after the wet/greasiness wipes away).
Our Body Balm is meant to penetrate deep into your skin for long lasting hydration, without the "wet", heavy greasy feel of a liquid moisturizer.
Q: Is the product travel-friendly?
A: Yes! There is no water in the Body Balm so it is TSA-Friendly. It is also small ad lightweight, so it doesn’t take up much room!

Q: How do your subscriptions work?
A: Simple. You choose what kind of Bite products you'd like to subscribe to. In your first order we send you refillable containers with 4 months worth of product. In subsequent shipments your favorite products arrive in 100% compostable refills. Domestic US shipping is always free for orders over $30.
Q: What items are available without a subscription
A: At the moment, our Seasonal Toothpaste Bits, Whitening Gel, Body Balm, Carbon Capture Cleanser, Soap Pouch, Soap Tray, Floss 2-pack, and Toothbrush 2-pack can be purchased without a subscription. Most of these and all of our other products are available as a flexible subscription that allows for savings and refills.
Q: What if I'm not into commitments?
A: We feel you. You're free to cancel before your next charge date through your customer portal or email us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Q: How do I log into my account?
A: You can easily log in to your account by following this login link. If you find that you do not yet have an account but you've subscribed, simply create a new account using the same email address you used to place your first order. You can create an account by following this registration link.
Q: What changes can I make to my subscription?
A: Once you log in to your account, you can make all sorts of changes to your subscription!
Change the frequency or the date of your shipment, swap or add products to your subscription, add one-time items, update your shipping address, payment method, or cancel? Just click "Manage Subscription!"
Need to update the name or email address associated with your subscription? Look for the "Profile" tab on the left side of the screen.
Q: How do I cancel or postpone my subscription?
A: Need to move your next subscription renewal date, cancel an item, or cancel your whole subscription?
- Start by logging in here. Select "Manage Subscriptions" and enter the email that you ordered your Bite product(s) with. You'll be sent a link to your account portal.
- Once in your member portal, select "Manage" next to the item you would like to postpone or cancel.
- To postpone, look for "Next box ships on..." and select "Edit." You'll be able to move your subscription to a sooner or later date depending on what works best for you. Doing this will edit the next shipment date for all of the items in that box and you'll be all set!
- To cancel, scroll down until you see "Cancel Subscription." Select that link and follow the steps on the next page to cancel your subscription. Please note that this will only cancel the item you are managing. You must repeat the process for all of your Bite subscription items in order to fully cancel your subscription and stop any recurring charges. Cancellation requests must be received at least one full business day to your next Box shipping date to avoid any charges.
- Bite will automatically renew your Subscription and charge your Payment Method depending on the Subscription shipping frequency chosen by you and, as authorized by you by agreeing to the automatic renewal of your Subscription during the Subscription sign-up process.
- Your Payment Method will be charged at least one full business day prior to your next Subscription shipping date. We will charge your Payment Method with the applicable cost for your Subscription, along with any shipping and handling costs and sales or similar taxes that may be charged with your Subscription.
- To avoid being charged, you must cancel your Subscription. We will continue to bill your Payment Method on a recurring basis (depending on the Membership and Box shipping frequency selected) until you cancel.
- Cancellation requests received by Bite through other channels may take up to five (5) business days to process. If you have any problems, please email us at email@example.com.
- Cancelling your Subscription will prevent only future orders from processing but will not cancel any orders previously charged.
- Any refills or subscription shipments after your first order are not eligible for return, refund or cancellation after they have been shipped. Trial items are not available for refunds. Read more under "Shipping & Returns".
- Bite may change Subscription offerings, policies or frequency in which case you will be notified.

Q: Do you offer free shipping?
A: Yes we do! Free standard shipping is applied to all domestic orders $30+.
Q: When will my order ship?
A: Orders will usually be shipped within 2 business days however PLEASE NOTE, due to COVID-19 your order may be delayed. Our small team is taking extra steps to ensure safety during these times and fulfillment lead times may take up to 10 business days at this time. We process and ship out all orders Monday through Friday, not including holidays.Once your order has shipped, you will receive a shipping confirmation email with your tracking information inside. Please note that it may take up to 48-72 hours for your tracking information to update on the carrier's tracking website. Most packages take 5 -10 days from the ship date to arrive.
Q: How long will it take for my order to arrive?
A: Shipping usually takes 7-10 business days from the day it shipped to arrive to its final destination.
We don't do rush shipping, but if you need it in a hurry, please email firstname.lastname@example.org before you place the order and we'll see what we can do.
Q: Do you ship to Alaska and Hawaii?
A: Yes, this is considered domestic shipping however may incur longer shipping times.

Q: I need my order ASAP, can you help?
A: We do not offer rush shipping and there's a reason for that!
In our efforts to be as sustainable as possible, we've decided not to offer rush shipping because of the carbon emissions it provides. Our carefully selected shipping methods contribute a smaller carbon footprint than driving to the store and picking up a tube of toothpaste. Read more about this here.

Q: My order stopped tracking but hasn't arrived! What should I do?
A: Oh no! We're so sorry to hear this. Please send us an email at firstname.lastname@example.org along with your order number and first and last name so we can look into this for you right away!
Q: How do I change my shipping address?
A: If you are not a subscriber, or if your order is already processing, please email us as soon as possible to email@example.com with the subject line URGENT: Incorrect Address, and we will make sure your order gets to you!If you are a subscriber and your order has not been processed yet, you can update your address at any time through your Account Page. Q: What do I do if something arrives broken or damaged?

Q: Can I make changes to or cancel my order?
A: Once you place your order and the payment is accepted and confirmed, it is then in process to be shipped. Because there is a very small window of time, we may not be able to "catch" your order before it is packed and set aside for shipping.
This unfortunately means no changes can be made to an order once it is placed however, there may be time to cancel your order entirely so you can start fresh. While we do not accept returns, we are committed to processing refunds to address your concerns. To ensure the sustainability of our small business and to make the refund process as convenient as possible for you, we deduct a reasonable processing fee from the refund amount. It's important to note that refunds are exclusively available for the initial purchase of subscription items; all other products are exempt from refunds. To initiate a refund, please contact us within 30 days from the date of delivery. However, we kindly remind you that we cannot provide refunds for requests received more than 30 days after the original shipment date or for unauthorized returns. Q: Are your products made in the USA?
A: Our Toothpaste Bits, Mouthwash Bits, and Whitening Gel are made in California.
Our toothbrush is made of moso bamboo, which is wild grown in the mountains of China using little water and no pesticides and it is not contributing to the habitat loss of the Giant Panda. At this time, there are no bamboo toothbrush manufacturers in the US and even if we made the toothbrushes here, we would have to have the bamboo harvested and shipped from China as that is where it is naturally grown.There are currently no manufacturers in the US that are producing vegan and plastic-free floss so we have sourced both our toothbrushes and floss from a US company that has people on the ground in China where they are manufactured. We have a close relationship with them and see them as a valued partner to us and our mission. Both the toothbrushes and floss are shipped to us in bulk by sea instead of air to minimize the carbon footprint as much as possible.
Q: What is Bite packaging made of?
A: We only ever use glass bottles. Why? Unlike plastic, glass is infinitely recyclable, looks great, and breaks down into sand at the end of its life. All of our glass bottles and jars have aluminum lids. Instead of plastic poly-mailers, we ship with kraft envelopes padded with post-consumer recycled newspapers. Our boxes are made of fully recyclable corrugated cardboard and sealed with a kiss – or as others call it, paper tape. We send your refill Bits in 100% home compostable pouches every four months with our subscription. Yep, still no plastic.
