Best Toothpaste: The Best Toothpaste For Sustainable Living

Living a more sustainable everyday life is more than just a trend–it’s becoming a way of life for many eco-conscious consumers in our society. And trust us: We’re not complaining! We’ve always believed that each of us is capable of making small changes that have a huge impact on shaping the future of our planet.

When we understand the power our everyday actions have on our natural environment–and future generations–we can begin to take the first steps toward meaningful change. But changing our way of life to be more sustainable can be overwhelming and stressful at first. Not everyone can buy an electric car or eliminate plastic from their life overnight. Sustainability takes time.

Starting small can lead to more significant changes. Think of your daily routines and how they affect the environment. Ask yourself, “How can I make this more sustainable?”

We brush our teeth every day, twice a day, maybe even three if we can remember to bring our toothbrush to work after we eat lunch. Sometimes we stare off into the mirror and forget to turn off running water. We often never actually use all of the toothpaste, leaving the plastic container with dried paste cramped into the corners to waste away in the trash bin.

Yes, turning the water off is important. But what about that plastic tube of toothpaste? What’s the better alternative to throwing countless tubes of plastic in the trash?

Introducing: Bite Toothpaste Bits

Bite Toothpaste Bits

Bite’s mission is to save the planet by eliminating plastic and harmful ingredients from the personal care products we use every day. Our Toothpaste Bits are thoughtfully packaged in a way that reduces plastic waste and helps customers make a positive impact on the environment. Bite Toothpaste Bits promote sustainability in a simple way that’s easy to get behind.

Toothpaste is an everyday essential for maintaining clean, healthy teeth. But when we use conventional toothpaste, we’re creating plastic waste that pollutes our environment. Over one billion plastic toothpaste tubes end up in our landfills and oceans every year.  It can take plastic hundreds of years to deteriorate in extreme cases, having long-lasting negative environmental effects. Simply put, we’re disposing of trash that will outlive us.

Bite Toothpaste Bits eliminates plastic from the product and packaging, all while tasting good and keeping your teeth clean. Our Bits are free from harmful sulfates like sodium lauryl sulfate (SLS) and naturally whiten teeth. With Bite, rest assured you’re only getting natural and effective ingredients that are safe for your body.

Oh, and did we mention that Bite products are 100% cruelty-free? We never test our products on animals. Ever.

You can enjoy Bite with three different flavors:

  • Fresh Mint: Our Fresh Mint Toothpaste Bits are our most popular flavor. These Bits are naturally flavored with peppermint to give them a classic mint taste that is seriously refreshing.
  • Mint Charcoal: Our Mint Charcoal Toothpaste Bits are naturally flavored with mint and contain activated charcoal, which helps lift tooth discoloration. Activated charcoal is known for its ability to help naturally brighten the smile.
  • Berry Twist: For those of us who aren’t fans of mint-flavored items, Berry Twist Toothpaste Bits are a great alternative. Like our other Bits, the Berry Twist Bits are naturally flavored. They’re also a favorite of picky kids! For parents struggling to get their child to use mint toothpaste, this might be a great way to make brushing a little more fun. These bite-size Bits should not be given to children under the age of three or those with a higher risk of choking.

Sustainability

The best toothpaste money can buy is one that promotes sustainability, actively works towards reducing waste, and eliminates harsh chemicals that are found in most conventional toothpastes.. Bite is committed to creating the best toothpaste for sustainable living.

Bite’s Mission

The idea for Bite started when founder Lindsay McCormick was traveling and realized how much plastic she was throwing away while going through travel-sized toothpaste tubes. She decided to make her own toothpaste when she couldn’t find any other brand that was dedicated to plastic-free, sustainable, and natural products.

The packaging for every product we sell can be recycled, reused, or composted. Bite aims to offer our customers sustainable alternatives for their daily routines. We try our best to make it as easy as possible to have a positive impact on our environment and shape future generations.

Bite’s Packaging

We’ve eliminated all plastic from our packaging. We know the damage that plastic causes to our environment can be irreversible in some cases, so we make it easy for our customers to recycle or compost our packaging at home.

Our toothpaste comes in glass jars with aluminum lids. Bite subscribers can reuse the glass jar that we send them, and we’ll send new Bits in a compostable refill pouch every four months.

Though customers may have to wait a little bit longer for our product because we don’t offer rush shipping, we promise it’s for the right reason. By using existing postal routes, we are actively cutting down on the carbon footprint that regular shipping has on the environment. It can take a couple of extra days, but this slight change makes a big impact.

Final Thoughts

Before modern oral healthcare, humans were using coconut oil, tea tree oil, peppermint oils, and baking soda as natural ways to care for our health, including dental hygiene.

Flossing can stop plaque build-up and reduce the chance of cavities. Brushing teeth can help prevent enamel damage, help with tartar control, reduce the appearance of stains, and stop tooth decay in its tracks.

There's a reason dentists recommend that brushing teeth be a part of every dental routine – even toddlers just being introduced to children’s toothpaste. But that pea or rice-sized dollop we place on our toothbrushes every day may be doing more harm than good.

We want toothpaste that will do the least amount of damage to the environment, especially because we use it so frequently. Natural ingredients are important, but sustainable packaging and delivery is equally important.

For those of us who want to live a more sustainable life, switching to Bite Toothpaste Bits is the way to go. Bite is committed to clean teeth and a clean planet.
